Types of Braces

Introduction

Thanks to today’s technology, patients now have more options when it comes to wearing braces. While regular metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are becoming increasingly popular along with removable appliances that can be used for mild cases of misaligned teeth.

Please speak with your orthodontist to determine which appliance is right for you.

Empower Braces

Empower® is a series of self-ligating braces from American Orthodontics. Self-ligating braces offer several benefits for patients. They use a self-ligation technique using lighter wires and lower friction brackets to move teeth, while resulting in faster treatment times due to its slide mechanism, strong, mechanical base bonding and solid walls structured to control tooth movement with speed and efficiency. In addition to greater comfort, self-ligating braces make it easier to maintain good hygiene because they are easier to keep clean. This contributes to greater health, happiness and physical attractiveness for the duration of patient treatment.

Beyond even these features, however, Empower is unique in that it is the first self-ligating brace system to offer both active and passive archwire clips, allowing your orthodontist unprecedented precision control, and the fastest possible treatment time.

Empower Clear Braces

Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients due to their cosmetic appeal. Clear braces have now joined the ranks of Empower braces, offering the latest self-ligation technologies and all the benefits it has to offer.

Harmony

Harmony invisible braces for teens and adults are the ideal solution for someone looking to straighten their smile, but are concerned about the appearance of braces. They are placed directly behind your teeth so no one will even know you are wearing braces unless you tell them. Harmony braces are customized specifically for you and your smile. Harmony braces provide better results faster than traditional braces and require fewer appointments, as well!

Invisalign

The Invisalign System is a series of clear overlay templates called aligners that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign system.
